Bios

The Fabulous Fossil Rockers Band is comprised of the following member in alphabatical order: Ben "BB" Bradford, Mike Liles, Mike Smith, and Ronald “Ronnie” Landry.

BB, who grew up in central Louisiana and started his first rock and roll band in the ninth grade. Jerry Lee Lewis was a close family friend, and starting when BB was about 10 years old, Jerry lee would teach BB something new on the piano every time he would come for a visit . BB played in bands all through high school and college and then spent his working years playing in duos and trios as time allowed. After he retired, he moved to Tennessee and formed an Elvis tribute band. That band became very successful and toured the East Coast playing in every big city, and dozens of small towns, between Baltimore and Orlando, and even travelled as far west a Las Cruces, NM. BB is a retired US Army JAG officer and has been involved in supporting our injured warriors for many years. His Elvis tribute band played three shows annually at Walter Reed Hospital in D.C. for our wounded heroes for 11 years. BB moved to Gulfport in 2024, and after getting acquainted with a few local musicians, formed the FFR Band.

Mike Liles is another local boy who grew up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and has traveled the country for the past five decades as the drummer for some of the finest, and most legendary, local, regional and national rock, blues, R&B, soul, and country bands in history, including performing with such stars as Merle Haggard and Dottie west. As you would imagine, Mike is a world class drummer, and is the heartbeat of the FFR. The two Mikes playing together are the foundation that the FFR's music is built upon, and we couldn't ask for a finer team. Finding a drummer who is so talented, and who immediately and seamlessly, melds into your band is extremely difficult, and the FFR feels like we've definitely won the lottery finding Mike!

Mike Smith is our fabulous bass player. Mike grew up here on the coast and has been playing in bands since he was in high school. Before he got married, Mike was in a band that decided to become rock stars and moved to the Northeast Megalopolis, where the big money is, to make their fortunes. They toured the upper East Coast until the reality that becoming rock stars takes more than virtuoso class talent brought them back home a year later. Since then, Mike has played has played in some of the best bands in the area, and continues to play at his local church every week. We're so lucky to have a bass player with such talent and musical experience as Mike.

Ronald “Ronnie” Landry, another native of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, was born in Biloxi and has lived his entire life in the area. Ronnie is the FFR's lead guitar, and a musician extraordinaire. Inspired by his entire family's love of music, especially his father's, Ronnie began playing guitar at the age of 10. With decades of experience, Ronnie excels in a long list of music genres including rock, blues, R&B, soul, country and others. Locals may remember Ronnie as the lead guitarist for two very popular bands here on the coast in the early 2000's, Excess and Stray. The FFR had to kiss a lot of frogs before we found Prince Ronnie. As the last member to join the band, Ronnie was the unanimous choice of all of the other FFR members. As you might imagine, we're thrilled to be a part of the next chapter of his musical journey.
